"Owner support was disappointing??"
The host wasn’t very helpful. I felt like I had to keep chasing them for everything, which got frustrating?? Just expected a bit more support during the stay.

"Felt true to the listing"
Booked this through Hoseasons and my gut feeling when we arrived was that it matched the listing well. The rooms looked about the size I expected from the photos, and the hot tub was there just like they said. The only thing that felt a little different was the garden, it seemed bigger online than it did in person. Nothing major though, we still had a really nice stay and I’d happily book through them again.

"Prices were clear enough, I guess"
I was expecting some kind of extra fee to pop up at the end, but it didn’t. The pricing was straightforward, and everything matched what I was shown. Not much to complain about, honestly

"Confirmation was a bit confusing"
I had to read the booking confirmation a couple of times because something about it wasn’t very clear. The dates and the extras were a little confusing, so I wasn’t totally sure everything was right at first.

We stayed in a Hoseasons lodge for the weekend and it was okay overall, but I don’t know, I feel like the cleaning could’ve been better for the price. The bedding seemed clean, which was good, but the floors looked a bit dusty and there were some marks around the shower in the bathroom. Maybe I’m being a bit picky, but I just expected it to feel a little fresher. It wasn’t awful or anything, just not quite as nice as I’d hoped.

"Not a great location and a bit confusing overall"
The location really wasn’t great. It felt miles away from anything, the views weren’t much to look at, and the whole place had a bit of a depressing feel to it. What made it more frustrating was that it wasn’t really clear who actually owned or was responsible for the place, so if you had a question or issue, it felt like you were being passed around a bit.

"Nice enough stay, but not as well-kept as others I’ve visited"
Overall, my stay was fine and the place had a nice feel to it, but compared to other lodges I’ve stayed in, this one felt like it needed a bit more attention. The door was quite stiff, the shower leaked a little, and a few of the lights weren’t working. I did mention it to the staff and they were polite about it, but things didn’t get sorted as quickly as I’d hoped. Not a bad stay, just could be better with some basic maintenance.

"Complaint took too long to sort"
We had an issue with our lodge as soon as we arrived and reported it straight away. Hoseasons did get back to us, but everything felt really slow, and because we’d already been charged for the stay, I was getting concerned when there weren’t proper updates coming through.
I ended up chasing more than once, which was frustrating on a short break when you just want things sorted. They did offer a small refund in the end, so it wasn’t completely ignored, but the whole complaint process felt harder work than it should have been

"Refund process felt longer than it should have"
I’m still waiting on my refund, and it’s taking longer than I think is reasonable. I understand things can take a few business days and I’m not expecting instant service, but it would feel fair to at least get a clearer update or timeline. Hopefully it gets sorted soon.

"Changing dates turned into a hassle"
I booked this a few weeks ago thinking everything was set, but then my plans changed last minute. I tried to amend the booking and it became such a headache. Instead of feeling like anyone was trying to help, it was mostly just being pointed back to the rules over and over. I understand there are terms, but things do come up. After going through that this time, I’d be hesitant to book again if there’s any chance my dates might need to change.

We had a nice enough break overall — the site was lovely and the cabin was fine for what we needed. The main issue was check-in, which felt messy and dragged on longer than it should have. It also felt like the goalposts kept moving a bit with what we were being told, so it was hard to know what was actually expected. Not a bad stay, but that part definitely took the shine off the start of the trip

"Am I the only one who needs quiet to relax?"
Am I the only one who finds it impossible to unwind when you can hear the neighbours all night? The place itself was fine, but the noise really made it hard to properly relax or get a decent sleep.

We mainly booked this place for the hot tub, and it was a bit of a mixed bag. It did work and got warm enough, but it didn’t feel like the “cleanest” hot tub I’ve used, and a few of the jets were weak. We still had a decent time and used it anyway, but for the price I was expecting a little better. I’d maybe go again, but I’d definitely check the lodge reviews first next time.

"Not that comfy, especially for the price"
We booked a lodge through Hoseasons for a short break, and it was just okay. It looked nice enough when we first arrived, but once we settled in, it didn’t feel very comfortable at all.
The sofa was really worn and dipped in the middle, and the mattress felt cheap and lumpy, so none of us slept particularly well. The heating was a bit all over the place too, which didn’t help. I also found the lack of actual human contact frustrating — everything felt very hands-off, and when you’re paying that much, it would be nice to speak to a real person properly rather than feel like you’re just being processed.
The few staff we did see were polite, so no issue there, but overall I expected better for the money. It wasn’t awful, but I wouldn’t rush to book again.

"Really poor response from customer service"
I tried getting in touch with Hoseasons about an issue with my booking, and it was just such a headache. The emails took ages to get a reply, and when someone finally did respond, it felt like they hadn’t really read what I’d sent in the first place.

I also called a few times and just ended up being passed around or left waiting. I understand places get busy, but getting simple help shouldn’t be this difficult. I won’t be booking through them again

"Kitchen worked when it wanted to"
Booked through Hoseasons the kitchen was barely usable. It felt like everything only worked when it wanted to. There were two tiny pans, the knives were blunt, no decent baking tray, and half the mugs were chipped. We ended up having to buy basic stuff just so we could cook tea. Not really what you expect when you’re paying for a self-catering place.

I tried to cancel online and somehow ended up getting bounced around from one place to another. The fees weren’t really explained clearly, and every time I asked about it, the answer was kind of vague. It took forever to get someone to actually tell me what was going on. the whole thing was way more stressful than it needed to be

"The lodge itself was nice enough..."
The lodge itself was nice enough, and we were comfortable there, but the surrounding area just felt a bit scruffy and messy, which was a shame. I kept thinking it wouldn’t take much to make the whole place feel more welcoming. Also, there wasn’t really much nearby to do, so if you’re hoping to wander out and find things going on, you might be a bit disappointed

"Heating drama ruined the vibe"
The place itself was okay, but oh my goodness, the heating situation was an absolute nightmare. It kept cutting out, so we had to keep calling up about it, and then one night the hot water stopped working too. At that point I was ready to pack up and go home. We’d booked it hoping for a relaxing break, but instead it just felt stressful and annoying. Disappointing, to be honest.

"The stay itself was okay, but..."
The stay itself was okay, but the arrival instructions really could have been clearer. After a long drive, we had to figure out where to go, and the key details were not explained very well. It took way longer than it should have to get sorted. A clearer message before arrival would have made the whole check-in much easier.
